흰고려엉겅퀴 Cirsium setidens f. alba, 초롱꽃목 국화과 엉겅퀴속의 여러해살이풀. 높이는 1 m. 줄기잎은 달걀 모양으로 밑쪽은 엽병이 길고 위쪽은 엽병이 짧다. 잎의 앞면은 털이 약간 나며 뒷면은 흰색에 털이 없고 가시 같은 톱니가 있다. 꽃은 백색/으로 가지 끝에 한 송이씩 핀다. 총포는 둥근 종 모양이고 털이 빽빽이 나며 꽃부리는 자줏빛이다. 열매는 10월에 익는데 긴 타원형이고 갈색이다. 어린잎을 나물로 먹고, 한방에서 거풍, 충독, 해수, 거담, 이질, 해독, 감기, 신장염 등에 약재로 쓴다. 조령산.
