지느러미엉겅퀴 Wilted Thistle

 

 

지느러미엉겅퀴 Wilted Thistle. 학명 Carduus crispus 영명 Carduus crispus,  엉거시,  목화(木禾), 뇌공채(雷公菜), 초롱꽃목 국화과에 속하는 두해살이풀. 키는 1m, 꽃은 5-8월에 피고 열매는 6-9월에 익는다. 줄기 양쪽에 지느러미 같은 가시가 있는 날개에서 이름이 유래한다. 어린줄기와 어린잎은 식용한다. 원산지는 유럽과 아시아의 온대지역이다. 전초를 이뇨제, 지혈제, 해열제로 쓰며 관절염 치료에 사용한다.

지상에 묶인 몸이어도

물 속에서처럼 헤엄치고 싶은 걸까

 

허공으로 머리 내밀고

길다랗게 온몸을 둘러싸고 있는 지느러미

하늘을 마음껏 휘젓고 싶은

그게 꽃으로 피는 걸까

 

꿈이 꽃으로 피면

소원을 이룰까

 

너울너울 잎을 펄럭일 때마다

가시 사이로 빠져 나가는 바람아

차라리 날개를 달까

 

검붉은 핏덩이를 쏟아야

꽃이 피겠지

뜨거운 햇살 아래서

왼 종일 합장으로 서있네

 

그래, 어두운 물 속보다는 나을 게야

아가미 없이도

숨쉬기 한결 쉬울 테니

몸은 지상에 머물러도

하늘에 올려놓은 마음

꽃으로 피우기 훨씬 쉬울 테니
