왕(王)둥굴레 Robust solomon's seal

왕둥굴레 Robust solomon's seal. 백합과 둥굴레속의 다년초. 학명 Polygonatum robustum. 울릉도에 자생한다. 높이 50-90cm로 위쪽이 비스듬하게 자라며, 겉에 능선이 없다. 잎은 좁은 타원형으로 9-15장이 어긋난다. 잎자루는 길이 8mm쯤으로서 뚜렷하다. 꽃은 5월에 잎겨드랑이에서 난 길이 1-3cm의 꽃대에 2-5개가 피며, 녹색이 도는 흰색이다. 화관은 통 모양이다. 열매는 둥근 장과이며 검게 익는다. 根莖(근경)을 玉竹(옥죽)이라 하며 주로 심장 질환과 호흡기 질환 즉 건해, 당뇨병, 번갈, 산후허로, 소변간삽, 폐결핵, 협심증을 다스린다.
