복자기나무 Three-flower maple

 

 

 

 

복자기나무 Three-flower maple. 무환자나무목 단풍나무과 단풍나무속의 소교목. 나도박달, 산참대. 학명 Acer triflorum Kom. 높이 10m. 잎은 마주나며, 3출겹잎,  꽃은 5-6월에 가지 끝에서 3개씩 달린다.  열매는 시과이다. 복장나무에 비해서 작은잎에 톱니가 없거나 2-3개 있고, 잎자루와 열매에 털이 있다. 일본 원산의 안약나무(Acernicoense Maxim, 메구스리노키)와도 흡사하여 오해를 받기도 한다.

복자기나무와 복장나무는 이름만큼 구분이 쉽지 않다. 복자기는 잎의 톱니가 크고 잎자루쪽은 없다. 복장나무는 잎의 톱니가 작고 잎자루까지 나있다. 복장나무 입장에서 답답하기 그지없어 복장 터진다고 다나 뭐라나.
