신나무 Amur Maple

신나무 Amur Maple. 때깔나무의 뜻으로 색목(色木), 북한명 시닥나무. 학명 Acer tataricum subsp. 단풍나무과의 낙엽소교목으로 높이 2-10m, 잎은 마주나고 세모진 타원형이거나 달걀 모양이며 밑부분이 흔히 3개로 갈라진다. 꽃은 5-6월에 원추꽃차례 가지 끝에 노란색으로 달린다. 잎을 염료로 사용하기도 하였고 나무껍질을 간장염, 안질에 약으로 쓴다. 시과의 각도가 넓게 벌어지는 괭이신나무, 시과의 빛깔이 붉은 붉신나무가 있다. 싣(楓)나모>싯나모>신나무에서 유래했다는 말이 있다. 수원시 팔달구 신동(莘洞)은 예전에 신나무가 많아 신나무실 또는 신촌으로 불렸다는데, 이때 신은 개나리 신(莘)이다.

서리 취해 한 조각 붉은 모습이 [霜酣一片赤]
