붉은키버들 Rwinnow willow

 

붉은키버들 Rwinnow willow, 학명 Salix koriyanagi f. rubra 높이 2-3m, 잎은 마주나기하거나 어긋나기하며 선상 피침형이고 붉은 빛이 뚜렷하게 나타나며 가장자리의 톱니는 뚜렷하지 않다.

키를 만드는 재료로 쓰인 키버들. 일명 고리버들. 마주 나는 것이 특징이다.

키는 곡식 따위를 까불러 쭉정이를 골라내는 도구이고, 고리는 반짇고리처럼 물건을 담는 생활용품이다.

어릴 때 오줌 못 가리는 아이들 머리에 두르고 코 훌쩍이며 동네 한 바퀴 돌며 소금 뿌리던 얘기가 떠오른다.
