큰개여뀌 Smartweed.  마디풀과의 일년초 .학명 Polygonum nodosum Person . 빈터, 밭주위에 흔히 자라며 높이 100~150cm. 줄기는 굵고 붉은 빛이 돌며 원줄기에 흑자색 점이 있다. 잎은 마주나며 피침형이다. 꽃은 7~9월에 피고 홍자색을 띈 백색이며 끝이 밑으로 처진다. 열매는 9~10월에 익으며 길이 2mm정도의 편구형이다.
