숙근 아스타 Aster amellus. European Michaelmas Daisy. 애기쑥부쟁이라고도 한다. 뉴욕쑥부쟁이, 뉴욕아스터, 학명 novae-angliae. 국화과의 다년초. 북미 원산. 키는 60-90cm 꽃은 여름부터 가을까지 보라색이나 자주색으로 핀다. 아스터(Aster)란 고대 그리스어의 별(star)을 상징하는  "Astron"에서 왔다. 대청호.
