황금 黃芩 Scutellaria baicalensis. 황문(黃文). 왜 황금이지? 뿌리가 황갈색인데 해열, 소염, 항염, 건위약으로 쓰인다. 뿌리의 속이 썩어 비어 있으므로 우리말로는 속썩은풀이다.(동의보감) 잎은 댓잎피침형으로서 양 끝이 좁고 가장자리가 밋밋하며 7∼8월에 자주색 꽃이 줄기 끝과 가지 끝에서 핀다. 9∼10월에 둥근 수과가 달린다.
