물냉이 watercress, cresson

 

 

물냉이 watercress, cresson, 학명 Nasturtium officinale R. Br. 두판채(豆瓣菜), 서양채건(西洋菜乾), 화란개(和蘭芥), 풍접초목 십자화과 물냉이속의 여러해살이풀. 유럽 원산. 원줄기는 높이 50~100cm. 어긋나는 경생엽은 우상분열을 하며 3~9개의 소엽이 있다. 5~7월에 총상꽃차례에 백색 꽃이 핀다. 꽃잎은 길이 4~5mm 정도이다. 영국에서는 식용으로 재배되고 있다. 식용으로 재배하여 연한 어린 싹을 나물로 먹는다.
