청소엽 Perilla frutescens 꿀풀과 들깨속의 일년초. 높이 20-80cm. 잎은 청색으로 마주나기하고 엽병이 길며 넓은 달걀모양이고 양면에 털이 있으며 가장자리에 톱니가 있다. 꽃은 8-9월에 피고 백색이며 분과는 지름 1.5mm로서 둥글다. 열매를 식용하고 잎은 종자와 더불어 발한, 진해, 진통 및 이뇨제로 사용한다. 차즈기를 일명 자소엽이라 한다.
