큰수리취 Synurus excelsus 국화목 국화과의 다년초. 학명 Synurus deltoides 높이 1~2m이고 줄기가 자줏빛이 돌고 거미줄같은 털이 밀생한다. 줄기 밑부분의 잎은 길이 10~21cm의 삼각형이고 예두이며 심장저 또는 원저이고로서 표면은 녹색이다. 뒷면은 흰색 면모가 밀생하여 흰빛이 돌고 가장자리가 결각상으로 갈라지며 뾰족한 톱니가 있다. 꽃은 검은 자주색이고 지름 4~5cm로서 가지 끝과 원줄기 끝에 밑을 향해 달린다. 어린 잎은 떡을 만드는데 사용하며 성숙한 잎으로는 부싯깃을 만든다.
