넓은잎외쑥 Artemisia stolonifera 높이 50~100㎝ 국화과의 다년초. A. vulgaris var. 줄기는 상부에서 짧은 가지가 갈라지고 처음에 거미줄 같은 털이 있다. 경생엽(莖生葉)은 호생(互生)하며 중부의 잎은 난형 또는 난상 장타원형이다. 꽃은  8~9월에 황갈색으로 피며 과실은 수과이다.
