갈참나무 Oriental Chestnut Oak

 

 

갈참나무 Oriental Chestnut Oak. 栩, 재잘나무, 톱날갈참나무, 학명 Quercus aliena Blume, 참나무과의 낙엽활엽교목, 높이 25m, 잎은 달걀형 또는 긴 타원형이다. 잎의 길이는 5∼30㎝이다. 잎의 가장자리에는 4∼8쌍의 뾰족한 거치가 있다. 뒷면은 회백색이며 별 모양의 털이 있다. 꽃은 암수한몸이다. 수꽃은 아랫부분에서 나며 암꽃은 윗부분에서 난다. 6개의 꽃피 조각과 2∼4개의 암술머리가 있다. 견과는 타원형으로 상부에 백분(白粉)이 있으며 갈색이다. 나무껍질은 회색으로 그물처럼 얕게 갈라진다. 계곡부의 토심이 깊고 비옥한 곳이나 산기슭에서 쉽게 볼 수 있다.
