빈카마이너 Vinca minor

빈카마이너 Vinca minor는 학명이며 영명은 페리윙클(Periwinkle),  용담목 협죽도과 빈카속의 낙엽성 덩굴식물로 Vinca는 묶다, 덩굴성 줄기를 뜻하고 minor 는  작다는 뜻을 가졌다. 빈카 메이저(vinca major)는 연한 적색빛이 나는 보라꽃, 빈카 마이너(vinca minor)는 연한 청색빛이 나는 보라꽃, 빈카 로시아 (Catharanthus vinca reseus vinca rosea)는  분홍색 꽃을 피운다.
