고사리 Pteridium aquilinum & 비늘고사리 Leatherly wood fern

 

고사리는 고사리목 고사리과이며 고비는 고사리목 고비과 식물이니 형제다. Bracken, 오각(烏角), 소각(小角), 고사리근(高沙利根), 학명 Pteridium aquilinum var. 높이 1m. 어린 잎은 궐(蕨)이라 하여 식용하고 청열(淸熱), 윤장(潤腸), 강기(降氣), 화담(化痰)의 효능이 있다. 뿌리는 궐근(蕨根)이라 하여 청열(淸熱), 이습(利濕)의 효능이 있다.

훈몽자회나 두시언해에도 고사리를 사용하였다. 한자어 궐채(蕨菜)는 고사리와 고비를 동시에 가리켰다.

'동언고략(東言攷略)'에는 곡사리(曲絲里) 즉 실처럼 가늘고 굽은 것을 고사리라 하였다.

서정범은 고비사리 즉 고비의 고 + 사리(새=풀)로 해석하고 있다.

이렇게 보면 고사리는 곱(曲)+사리(둥근 뭉치)>고사리거나, 곱(曲)+사리(새=풀)>고사리로 추리 가능하다.

따라서 고비는역시 곱(曲)+이(접미사)>고비로 추리할 수 있다.

고사리는 해마다 채미하여 먹는데 앞으로는 고비도 캐먹을 일이다. 주로 순환계·소화기 질환을 다스린다.

 

 

비늘고사리 Leatherly wood fern, 면마과의 다년초. 비렴(飛廉), 곰고사리. 학명 Dryopteris lacera 잎자루는 길이 10~29cm로서 잎몸보다 짧으며 가운데 축과 더불어 다갈색 또는 적황갈색인 댓잎피침형 비늘조각이 윤기를 내며 촘촘히 나 있는데 큰 비늘조각의 길이는 2cm 정도이다. 주로 신경계·외과 질환을 다스리며, 출혈·통증에 효험이 있다.

지장박골에 살던 어머니

남의집살이에 잔뼈가 굵었다

군대간 아버지 기다리며

열아홉에 나를 낳고

서모와 큰어머니, 시누들 틈에서

나를 키우셨다

 

화장품 외판원 삯바느질에 퉁퉁 부은 몸

병원 한번 못 가보고 신장이 곪았다

고비 고비 넘기다 고비처럼 쇠 버린 몸

추스릴 겨를 없이

 

옆구리에 주머니 매단 대장암 아버지

온갖 치다꺼리에 꺽꺽 토악질을 하신다

 

억센 고비순을

푹 삶아 우려낸다

떫은 어머니는

우려도 우려도 우려지지 않는다
