비로드잎밤나방 Hypostrotia cinerea

식장산.

비로드잎밤나방 Hypostrotia cinereal. 성충은 6~8월에 나타난다. 앞날개 전연 기부와 콩팥모양 무늬, 가락지모양 무늬의 주변은 황백색에 적갈색이 섞여 있다. 

비로드(velvet)처럼 부드럽고 곱다. 벨벳은 '털투성이의'라는 뜻을 지닌 중세 프랑스어 블뤼(velu)에서 왔다.

우단(羽緞)으로 번역되는 velveteen 도 비로드처럼 부드럽고 화려하긴 마찬가지다.
