왕눈큰애기자나방 Problepsis superans 날개편길이 46~50mm. 더듬이는 수컷이 미모상, 암컷은 실 모양이다. 앞날개 횡맥상에 있는 원형무늬 속에는 위가 열린 검은색 고리무늬가 있다. 외횡선과 외연부의 무늬는 잘 나타나지 않는다. 성충은 연 2회 6~7월과 8~9월에 나타나며 보통종이다.
