새콩 Edgeworth's hogpeanut, edgeworth-amphicarpaea. Trisperma hogpeanut, 학명 Amphicarpaea bracteate, 콩목 콩과 새콩속 덩굴성 한해살이풀. 길이 100-250cm. 잎은 어긋나며 작은잎 3장으로 된 겹잎이다. 가운데 작은잎이 가장 크며 털이 난다. 꽃은 8-9월에 잎겨드랑이에서 난 꽃대에 6개쯤 총상꽃차례로 피며, 연한 자주색이다. 꽃받침은 끝이 5갈래로 갈라지며 털이 있다. 화관은 나비 모양이다. 열매는 협과이며 1월에 성숙한다. 연한 잎을 식용하거나 열매인 양형두(兩型豆)는 사지동통, 지통에 사용한다.

돌콩이네 알콩달콩 사는 곳 이웃에

새콩이네 달콩알콩 살고 있다

 

아침마다 들르는 박새가 들려주는 말

건너 마을 김서방네 울퉁불퉁 산다더라

 

욕심 하나 버리고

너와 나 구별  하나 없애니

이러쿵저러쿵 이 세상 산다는 거

다 고기서 고기 인데

 

삐죽빼죽 저 잘난 맛에 혼자만

활개치고 사는 맛만 제맛이랴

 

토닥토닥  서로 등  두드리며

얼그렁 설크렁 사는 맛도 제맛이다

 

오늘도 잡풀 무성한 들판에서 새콩

청보라빛 사파이어 하나씩 품고 웃고 산다
