끝무늬애기자나방 Pylargosceles steganioides, 편 날개의 길이는 1.8~2.6cm이며, 유충의 몸은 아주 가늘며 40mm, 회색을 띤 갈색이고 1배마디에 검은 무늬가 있다. 6배마디의 다리와 꼬리다리는 나무의 겨울눈 같아 보인다. 가슴다리를 완전히 몸에 붙인 채 나뭇가지처럼 가만히 있다. 앞날개는 푸른색을 띤 갈색에 톱날 또는 물결 모양의 가로무늬가 있다.
