종지나물 meadow-blue-violet. 미국제비꽃, 종지제비꽃, 자화지정(紫花地丁), 하연두(荷蓮豆), 북밍 원산. 잎은 근경에서 모여 나며 잎자루는 잎몸보다 길다. 잎몸은 신장형으로 예두에 심장저이고 가장자리에 톱니가 있다. 뿌리에서 나오는 화경에 1개씩 달리는 꽃은 4~6월에 피고 백색에 진한 자주색과 황록색의 무늬가 중앙에 있다. 열매는 타원체이며 종자는 갈색이다. 어린 잎은 식용한다. 간장기능촉진, 감기, 거풍, 부인병, 정혈, 종기, 진해, 청열해독, 태독, 통경, 해독에 사용한다.
